Google Lens Create Mode: New AI Photo Editing Tool

Google has officially launched a new AI-powered photo editing feature inside the Google Lens app, allowing users to transform any image in seconds. The feature, powered by the “Nano Banana” AI model, became available this week for both Android and iOS users in the United States.

The new addition, called “Create Mode,” appears under Lens’s AI tools and is represented by a yellow banana icon. According to Google, the feature is designed to help users bring their imagination to life and have fun experimenting with photos.

To use it, open the Google app, tap on Lens, and select the Create option. Users can then type a text prompt — such as “make a photo booth picture of me” — or take a new photo to apply edits instantly. The tool allows further refinements and lets users share the final image directly with friends and family.

For those who prefer not to take selfies, the tool also works with the rear camera or any photo from the device gallery. Beyond editing, Create Mode can even generate entirely new images based on text prompts using AI creative tools.

An interesting highlight of the update is its interactive AI experience — users can ask the AI follow-up questions like where to buy a similar outfit or how to enhance a created object.

Currently, the feature is available only in English for U.S. users, but Google plans to expand it to more regions and languages soon.
